Your wedding day is supposed to be the most magical day of your life, but it is not going to start well if you fall out of the limousine you have hired to take you to the wedding. A graceful exit is not always the easiest thing to achieve when you are all trussed up in your wedding refinery, but there are a couple of ways you can ensure that you keep your pride intact on one of the most important days in your life.
Careful Limousine Selection
While most cars look the same, a minor variance in seat height could make all the difference between a Grace Kelly princess exit and that of a tumbling acrobat. When you are discussing car options with your limousine supplier, ask if you can come to the yard and test which one is the easiest to get out of. If they agree, be sure to do this test wearing restrictive clothing so you can get a sense of how easy or difficult it is going to be to exit the vehicle.
When you are wearing restrictive clothing, the best way to get out of a vehicle is to swing both of your legs out together. Once they are out of the limousine, bend your legs and then push your body weight up with your knees. By keeping your shoes touching together at all times during the swing, you won't have to worry about any sneak peeks of the garter beneath the dress.
To make this movement even more successful, ask the driver to park the car as close to the curb as possible. By doing so, your legs don't have to reach down too far to touch the ground. Additionally, before you get out of the car, ask the driver or another person traveling in the car with you to be outside the door to give you a steadying hand.
You may want to practice this swinging of the legs maneuver from the backseat of your own car before the wedding day. A little practice will give you the confidence you need to do this in one flawless motion.
A little forethought and a little practice will turn your wedding day arrival into an act of elegance rather than an act of embarrassment. Your limousine rental company will happily adhere to any special instructions you give them because they too want your day to be as perfect as possible.Share
